The project
Background
The project is inspired by the urge for a positive cultural and social change enabled by enhanced skills, extended equal training opportunity and digital inclusion to adults motivated to restore the role of cultural traditions, especially in rural areas that once the nurturing cradle of traditions, now erosion due to town abandonment.
Digitalization is becoming an ever more powerful transformation process in every corner of life. Our staff and local learners require updated knowledge of digitalization and concrete NFE skills in order to make them the right catalyst for community initiatives that help preserve and revive the dying out traditions and artisan practices.
Suffering from lack of information and public innovation due to geographical barrier and limited resources, we count on REVES project to provide a quality, practical and inspirational Training Course in vivid cultural settings with efficient measures, which would be otherwise difficult with local resources and mentality
Objectives
As a general aim, the project shall help us achieve our constant learning goal to be regularly updated with latest training techniques and internationalize our professional networks in order to maintain our reliability and competitiveness as Adult Educator.
Theme-specific, REVES – REinVEnting to REviVE traditionS have two specific objectives:
(1) To provide adult educators and cultural promoters with tailor-made Training opportunity for social inclusion and enhanced performance in the digital age
(2) To boost active civic participation in preserving local traditional heritage and European diversity against imminent risk of erosion
In other words, we mean to prepare our staff and key local actors into competent mentors and action-takers in the field of cultural promotion. Thanks to that, they can keep pace with the fast-changing social realities and mentality and be able to provide support as well as lead local projects with a tradition-reinventing scope by means of digitalization.
Activities
REVES will provides 10 participants a learning mobility in the form of a Structured Course in both virtual and physical format with a Weimar-based training provider, Culture Goes Europe (CGE).
The virtual Prep Course composed by two intensive 4-hour sessions online that meant to familiarize participants with use of digital tools, break the ice between participants and Trainers, as well as prepare them with baseline theory knowledge in a green, time- and cost-effective manner.
The physical Training course will take place for 7 days in Weimar and employ a variety of interactive learning methods such as in-class learning, debates, case-study seminar, study visits, extra-curricular cultural activities with a sector-specific and rural focused orientation aiming at stimulating and showcasing possible solutions to territorial development. The guiding Training approach will be interactive, non-formal, evidence-based and solution-based, with continuous and formative assessment.
Impact
REVES shall result in a major turning point for our organization in Adult Education embarkment, rendering us competent actor in the field of Cultural promotion. It is a cornerstone to build up and become experienced training provider in a wider, European scale.
We expect a net increase in our staff’s educational and cultural capacity as mentors and movement-leaders in promoting digitalization of traditional heritage as a way to effectively preserve and revive it in a new social context.
As for participants, REVES will equip them with digital skills needed to launch their own tradition-reinventing projects, increase their pride and sense of responsibility towards cultural conservation, thus become more civically engaged with a can-do and must-do spirit.
Another significant result is a Collection of Digitalized Traditions, jointly done by our staff and learners, to be stationed on our Website as an open, lasting resource – proof of our work and living force of reinvented traditions.
